Well wasn't quite expecting snow this morning when I looked out the window. Quite odd for 11th March!
Attempted to protect Lily and Puddles from the snowfall today by propping up bits of wood. Think it helped a little.
Opened the chicken pen door this morning and they stuck their heads out and clearly thought there is absolutely no chance we are going out there and wouldn't come out! When I got home from work they were still in their house! Don't worry they had been out as all the food had been eaten. Let them in the garden for ten minutes this evening however when our fingers and toes started going blue we thought it was time to go back inside.
Whilst cooking tea tonight I remembered about saving egg shells and crushing them up to feed back to the chickens. Apparently it's a good calcium source for them so that's there breakfast sorted!
