So far, so good...

With the sun shining we couldn't resist a countryside walk into the estate land to the front and side of our house before starting on the jobs of the day. I also got a little sidetracked bottle feeding our neighbours orphan lambs (so adorable).

Feathers:

First job of the day I turned over some of the ground in the chicken pen so the trio could enjoy a sun bath in the mud. I think they thought it was Christmas they were that excited. We got one beautifully formed egg today from Beatrice to say thank you.

Puddles had an adventure today and came up the top of the garden with us whilst we were having a breather. He was quiet as a mouse while he looked round and took the new sights in.

Foliage:

Eventually the work actually began on the vegetable plot at lunchtime and we headed up the garden with all our tools and two beers in tow! Gosh we worked hard today. Firstly we started trying to roll up the turf from the plot of land which very soon become a tedious job. As we found most of the top to be covered in moss we had a re-think and raked it off instead. This may sound like an easy thing to do but we came across so many stones we could have started our own pebbled beach! Still got some more work to do tomorrow but here are the before and after photos from today.
