Home, sweet, home...

Fur:

Big day for Lily today, we've now moved her up the top of the garden so she can enjoy the sunshine and be with the rest of the gang. It's going to be so much better for her and means we can spend more time with her this summer. Here she is after the move...

Feathers:

Jemima has laid us an egg each day for the last week! That's a lot of duck eggs... must do some baking now!

How do you like your eggs in the morning...

Feathers:

First egg of the year was laid today by a very happy Gladys! Since the move last weekend she has been on top form. She laid her egg and then had a celebratory bath in the vegetable garden. Looking forward to a bacon and egg sandwich tomorrow morning!

It's getting hot in here...

Fur:

We're having a log burner put in this week however Ellie seems to like the new space as a bathhouse. She's going to get a shock when the burner goes in later today.

Whilst the workmen have been busy I've been clearing an area for Lily up the garden so she can live near the ducks and chickens, hope she appreciates the company! Not sure if she'll be pleased to see Puddles again or not...

Hibernation: Too pass the winter in an inactive and dormant state...

We're back in action after a very windy and wet winter, the beginning of March saw Mike and I embracing the sunshine and making a fresh start on our outdoor projects. I do have a tendency to hibernate when it's cold!

Fur:

Ellie and Isla have been out in the nice weather all day, very unfortunate for the animal population. Ellie's newt obsession is getting a little out of hand! She catches at least two or three every day. She holds them in her mouth with their tails sticking out then brings them in the house and literally spits them out on the carpet! It's an ongoing saga!

Here were the girls today, Isla sunbathing and Ellie staying in the shade under the fire pit, possibly not the most sensible of places to start using as a bed!

Feathers:

After all the rain over the winter the poor chickens were walking about in a mud bath so yesterday we took on the rather big job of dismantling their pen and putting it up near the ducks. It looks so much better now and it's going to be much easier to clean. Lucky spent ages telling all the other chickens in the area about how brilliant it is whilst standing on top of a mound of earth in the garden...

Today I spent ages weeding the veg garden and getting it ready for planting seeds. I had a few little helpers...

The ducks watched on while all the work was going on...
