Hibernation: Too pass the winter in an inactive and dormant state...

We're back in action after a very windy and wet winter, the beginning of March saw Mike and I embracing the sunshine and making a fresh start on our outdoor projects. I do have a tendency to hibernate when it's cold!

Fur:

Ellie and Isla have been out in the nice weather all day, very unfortunate for the animal population. Ellie's newt obsession is getting a little out of hand! She catches at least two or three every day. She holds them in her mouth with their tails sticking out then brings them in the house and literally spits them out on the carpet! It's an ongoing saga!

Here were the girls today, Isla sunbathing and Ellie staying in the shade under the fire pit, possibly not the most sensible of places to start using as a bed!

Feathers:

After all the rain over the winter the poor chickens were walking about in a mud bath so yesterday we took on the rather big job of dismantling their pen and putting it up near the ducks. It looks so much better now and it's going to be much easier to clean. Lucky spent ages telling all the other chickens in the area about how brilliant it is whilst standing on top of a mound of earth in the garden...

Today I spent ages weeding the veg garden and getting it ready for planting seeds. I had a few little helpers...

The ducks watched on while all the work was going on...
